Hello, I’m Leanne the hands, heart, and sandy shoes behind Darling Neptune.
I originally studied at art college, but life took me in another direction and I spent over 25 years working as a nurse. Creativity has always been a part of me, though, and living here on the Cornish coast gave me the perfect way back to it. I began collecting pebbles, shells, and sea glass on family beach walks, turning them into little gifts for friends. Before long, people started asking for their own pieces and so Darling Neptune was born.
Every piece of artwork is handmade from natural treasures gathered along the shoreline. No two are ever the same, because nature doesn’t make duplicates. I create, paint, and package each one in my little home studio with the sound of seagulls outside the window and the sea just a short walk away.
For me, this is more than just art. It’s about slowing down, noticing beauty in small things, and sharing a piece of Cornwall with you. Whether you’re buying a gift or treating yourself, I hope each piece brings the same joy to your home that I felt while making it.
